When it comes to reward and recognition this is one of the highlights of my career and I feel very humbled by the honour.
Staffordshire University was my first speaking engagement where I spoke about FAST Leadership, and to get this level of recognition is truly motivating.
I can honestly say that it was not something that I ever thought I would achieve, and if you had told me this last year I would have told you you are crazy.
I am really looking forward to working with Staffordshire University over the next 3 years, I have had some great discussions and I am confident that this will be a mutually beneficial relationship.
I have already given an MBA Masterclass on FAST Leadership, with Professor Rune Todnem By. This was a great experience for me, there is nothing quite like being grilled on a subject you think you’re an expert in, by MBA students. That really helped me get a better and clearer understanding and I look forward to doing more of that.
My role will involve supporting research, some teaching and working to improve the standing of Staffordshire University and it’s here I am most excited, I would love to help them become a FAST University.
I also want to thank everyone who has supported me through my career, who have followed my blog, encouraged my writing and speaking.
This award is just as much a tribute to you as it is to me.
I’d also like to say a big thank you to my wife Carine, who said why not be a Professor – just days before the idea was first mooted – it’s great to have people who believe in you, even when you don’t see it.
