FAST Approach to Twitter Success!

Leadership is all about influence, even social influence through tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, and I have been looking to increase my influence through Twitter on the next generation of leaders by sharing what I believe to be practical and pragmatic leadership advice which will help them become not only better leaders but inspiring leader.

I believe that people can achieve astounding results when they become inspired, and I am truly astounded to have achieved the number one position not once, but three times in a row, all of which helps to increase my credibility and influence.

There is always some good fortune along the way, but this didn’t just happen by chance.

I put myself in the best position to be successful by taking a FAST Approach to Twitter.

As many of you will know my FAST approach is an acronym for Focus, Accountability, Simplicity and Transparency.

I was very focused on ensuring that I tweeted consistently, with good content, and at the right times.

I took accountability for communicating with people that engaged with me, I know many who look to automate this aspect, but whilst we can automated the sending of tweets, for me its important and authentic to respond to all engagements personally.Maybe they don’t know that my thanks was keyed in by me, but I know, and thats just as important.

Simplicity, I always try to keep my content simple and easy to understand, if people can understand it then they can use it. Even when discussing complex topics I always try to find a way to make the topic as accessible to as many people as possible. Which has proven to be a popular approach.

Lastly transparency which is knowledge and understanding of where we are and what we need to do, and what our current level of performance is. Whilst it’s not possible to see your position until the results are posted I did have a good idea of what needed to be done to at least get on the Top 100 list, and I made sure that I did that consistently.

I find that whenever I take the FAST Approach I know that I put myself in the best position to achieve success, which always in spires me.
