Unleashing the Power of Possibility: Harnessing the Universe for Success

It’s incredible what is possible when we begin to align our thoughts and actions with our dreams and when we open ourselves up to the possibility of those dreams coming true.

Many people believe that when we are willing to try new things, have an honest heart, and have a plan for where we want to go, the universe will bend over backwards to help us on our way.

As Mark Twain once said, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbour, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover.

It’s a reminder that regret often lies not in our actions, but in our inactions – the opportunities we let slip by, the dreams we didn’t pursue, the adventures we didn’t undertake.

Whilst this sounds incredible, I have to say in my experience – and I can’t fully explain how or why – this is often the case. We can call it fate, chance or just coincidence, but how many coincidences do we have to have before we believe there is something more to it?

When I wrote my book, I was thinking about how to get it published, I could go through a process of applying to publishers and I knew it would probably take 6-18 months, I decided I didn’t want to do that, so I would self publish and just move this forward, then within 2 days I was approached by a publisher. I’d decided to step forward and then the opportunity came to me.

Shortly after that, I decided that I would finally take starting a career in speaking seriously, so I looked for a coach to get some training, the very next day a friend emailed me and said she had an opportunity for someone to speak on leadership and would I be interested. So now I had my first date for speaking. Would I have received that email if I hadn’t decided to go for it and find a coach – we will never know, but it is another coincidence.

When I decided to write the blog, within 2 months it was ranked in the Top 50 Leadership blogs to watch. It didn’t meet any of the criteria to be on the list and certainly not in the top 50, but the person compiling the list had seen it and decided he liked it and would include it at number 50. This small gesture encouraged me to continue and drive onwards.

The contrary is also true, often when I want something and just sit back and wait, it seems like I am waiting forever for something to happen, for a break to come.

We can create and shape our own futures, but we can’t do that sitting on our asses waiting for things to come to us, it doesn’t work like that.

If you want to win the lottery you have to at least buy a ticket.

As the saying goes, Fortune Favours the Bold, so be bold, set your sails and go for your dream.
